State of the Union - Conference Weekend

Well ... this week was a good one.  Lots to do.  Drew didn't fight me at all on the home schooling which was wonderful and we accomplished much. Ashley came up to Saint George this week to do some photo shoots up there and Austin came for a bit too and they stopped by Sunday night.  Ashley will be staying today and tomorrow to play so that will be very fun!  Let the Castle marathon begin!!!  And facials ... and foot reflexology sessions ... and gluten free cookie eating ... it will be very fun :D


We had General Conference weekend and it was absolutely wonderful as always.  Was it me or are they getting more bold and plain in their speaking?  Which I love, actually.  You know where you stand that way.  They say it with love, but they say it.  That is something I have as a parent really tried to do.  I want there to be no question where I am coming from.  No confusion about the point I am trying to get across.  Anyhow ... I came away from conference with these points or themes:


* God knows you and cares about all facets of your life, but respects your agency, so we need to ask for his help and guidance.


* Read the Book of Mormon ... ALOT!


* REPENT now


* Step up for who you are and what you believe.  The time to get out of the comfort zone has come.


*  Love each other.  Love yourself.  Cherish your family.  


I am sure there was MUCH more, but those are the ones that are coming to my mind now.


It was very exciting that Drew and Darin went to Priesthood Session together.  Something I don't recall them doing before ... they showed the session at 5:00, then again at 7:30.  Darin went with Brad Whiting to the 5:00 session, then came back and got Drew to go to the 7:30 session.  The sound was too much.  He didn't last more than 20 minutes, sad to say. It's a start though and it was very exciting that he was able to go.  A very good week this past week.  Looking forward to what we will accomplish this week.
